A Civil Marriage Celebrant is appointed by the Australian Government's Attorney General's Department and is authorised to solemnise marriages anywhere in Australia in accordance with the Marriage Act, 1961. Although, traditionally, marriages have taken place in religious establishments, Civil Marriage Celebrants offer you a professional option. A civil ceremony can be as equally emotional, extremely professional and sensitive and, above all, comprise of your wishes for your special day. Additionally, a Civil Marriage Celebrant, in most cases ,will accommodate your choice of location for the marriage ceremony thus giving you total control of this special occasion. Choosing your Marriage Celebrant Civil Marriage Celebrants are professional people who will ensure that your special day is one to be remembered, however it is important that you make the right choice. It is recommended that you base your decision on professionalism and not price. It does not mean that the dearest is best and conversely it doesn't mean that the cheapest is either. You should chose two or three celebrants if you are shopping around and then arrange for them to visit you to see first hand how they operate and what they offer for their fee.
